Full Version: Furminator Knockoffs
simile
I just spent 9 days at our State Fair (our organization has a booth every year), and of course I had to do some shopping. There was a booth that was selling Furminator knockoffs. Locally, the Furmiator sells for almost $50 a pop. This booth had them for $29.99, or two for $50. I bought two. They're awesome! Here are some pics.

This is the brush with the regular deshedding side up.

This is the brush with the rake side up. The prongs look sharp in the pic, but they're actually nice and rounded.

And this is the front so you can see the little flippy thing that lets you flip the brush heads back and forth (please excuse the blur).

This thing is amazing. The hair comes out in piles, and the dogs love it. They push each other out of the way to get brushed, and they've never, ever done that. The rake side is good if you have long haired dogs for getting tangles out, but for the short haired hounds I've been using it for massage and they can't get enough. You can also use the rake on carpet - I used it in my car to pull the hair that had woven itself into the carpet.

Anyway, I was pretty pleased with my Fairtime score.

the furminator is good, but after working in grooming for over a year i realized the best thing that works on greys is a zoom groom

the furminator can be a lil' rough on their skin, and the zoom groom also acts as a massager!

Sorry gang, I pulled the pics off photobucket a while ago. The knock off looked pretty much like the furminator, but had long, straight prongs on one side that worked really nice for tangles in long coats, or just to massage or give scritches.

I like the zoom groom, too. I use that when I bathe the hounds. Can't beat it!

Al loves it when i bring out the zoom groom! At the kennel we would use it on boxers, greys, and other short hair dogs and the first time i used it i could believe all the hair i got off with it!

Cool I will check out the zoom groom .

I have a zoom groom. Something like 8.95 at Petsmart. It's made by Kong, the same people that make the toys.

My greyhounds love it. It really feels good to them.

Have to check next time when we are at Petsmart.
