I just got back from a GUR, 1,250 miles and 18 hours round trip... Henderson, NV to Albuquerque, NM to Henderson, NV. A couple of neglected black greys had been given up by their owner. They weren't leash trained. Remind me to ALWAYS carry harnesses with me. laugh.gif Black dogs at night cannot be found. dry.gif

Picking them up at the vet in Albuquerque after they had been "snipped".

On the road. Notice the jury-rigged extra leashes.

Shoot Leslie! That's not a lot of road!! Oh wait, not everyone is used to running the roads like I used to!! Hmmm, about 6000 miles in 5 1/2 days. Yep, now that's a lotta roads!!! blink.gif laugh.gif

That IS a lot of road. Truck driver? I was on some overlapping GURs a couple of years ago where I drove 7600 miles in 9 days I think. But yours was 1100 miles a day or so and that's a lot for 5 1/2 consecutive days. ohmy.gif

Glad the trip was done safely and everyone made it home. They are beautiful dogs.

When you finally put leads on them, did you let them run along side your car, just like the dog and cop in Turner and Hooch.
When you mention harnesses, You remind me of forgetting the golden rule when you take greys out to the park and let them off the lead...
I should not chase after them when they run off!!!! emo-th_headbangwall.gif laugh.gif
They're so lovely smile.gif

Yep, I was. I teamed with DH for 13 months. I suppose I could drive again, but it's been about 5 years since I've driven anything more than the car!

Well, I guess they're a little too wild for the adoption group here so I'm going on the road with them again Saturday to another adoption group in Malibu, CA. Sheesh. dry.gif They have a lot of land for them to roam around in. wink.gif
