Fat Balls and Brownie recipe were sent to me for Softee to get her to eat. The thread I found when I was browsing.

Liver Brownies 325º 25 min.-
1 bx Jiffy cornmeal mix

2 egg/with shells

1 garlic clove

1 lb chicken livers

Put all in a blender and blend. Line a brownie pan with foil. Pour liver mixture in and bake for 325 for 25 minutes. Cut in small cubes. Store in freezer. They also like them frozen! They will come running when they are baking. I don't line with foil I use Pam and then when done invert on a cookie sheet. They are easier to cut. Can also use a recipe of self rising cornmeal for muffins. Can use beef liver also but cut up the liver before blending

Fat Meatballs

Mix together in large bowl: 1-1 1/2 lbs fatty raw Hamburger,
1/2 C Wheat Germ, 1 pkg plain Knox Gelatin,
4 1/2 tsp Molasses or Karo Dark Syrup,
3 Egg Yolks, 4 1/2 tsp Vegetable Oil,
3 C uncooked Oatmeal. Form into meat balls, place on cookie sheet and place
in freezer.
When frozen, put in container and to serve microwave each meatball about 30
seconds
per meat ball (depending on size).

OR (This one makes a lot more, so you can halve or quarter it.)

Mix in large bowl, 5 lbs Hamburger (cheap stuff),
5 raw Eggs, 1/2 can Pumpkin (not pie filling),
1/2 C Molasses, 1/2 C Oil, 5 packages unflavored Gelatin,
1/2 box Total cereal, 1/2 box Oatmeal, 1/2 jar Wheat Germ,
1 can sweetened condensed Milk, pinch of Salt.
Roll into small portions, freeze for use as needed.

Forgot to tell you that I was told the brownies are not the best smelling brownie and if you have any crumbs after you cut them sprinkle on their food. Also they like them frozen...
dad2paisley
Thanks, we'll have to make them for our guys.

What about Frosty Paws? I have two recipes to make them and probably have more around
mountain4greys
Hi Beryl, I'd be interested in making homemade Frosty Paws. Can we get the recipies? smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif
Beryl
Sure I have two let me find them and will copy and paste for you. The one calls for a raw egg Please check with your vet before you add that egg
Beryl
Frosty Paws (this one was sent to me by a friend)

32 oz lite vanilla yogurt
4-5 Tbs peanut butter (mike it...it makes it easier to mix)
4 Tbs honey
2-3 mashed bananas (or can use a jar or two of strained baby food fruit--I stick with the bananas because of the potassium)
1 raw egg (optional, but good source of protein)
Add about 1/2 - 3/4 skim or 2% milk. (this is also optional, but it stretches the recipe quite a bit)

Mix together till smooth (or blend in blender. I generally do it by hand.)

You can freeze it several ways:
Pour the mixture into ice cube trays...freeze
Use small plastic sundae cups if you have any
Use small plastic dixie cups. (I use these and get about 22-24 from the recipe; I buy the cups at CVS,,,they are the perfect size.)
The mixture freezes very nicely and fairly quickly. It's ready in about 3 hours.

Found this in a magazine

Frosty Paws

32 oz lite vanilla yogurt
1/4 cup Peanut butter (mike it...it makes it easier to mix)
1 banana chopped fine
can add 3 teaspoons of dark karo or molasses or even brown sugar

Mix well and freeze

ok i'm posting this by request!

This is the mixture i add to al's kibble....

4 chicken thighs (or whatever is on sale!!)
2 cups cooked rice
green beans
cooked carrots

Cook the chicken in a crock pot for 24 hours, the chicken falls right off the bones and the bones desinagrate right between your fingers, so the dogs can get the marrow and not have to worry about danger from bones!

pretty much just mix it all together!! you can add whatever else your pup likes, of course.

This amount lasts Al for about 2 weeks (i freeze some of it)

also, don't forget to make you something with the chicken broth that is left over in the crock pot, it makes good soup!! (unless you wanna add that to your pups food, too!)

Here are a couple I have...

Chicken and Rice Dog Food for Busy Pet Parents:

This is one of the easiest dog food recipes any dog owner can prepare for their dog. There are many variations in this recipe but I’m going to give you the simplest, fastest, and the healthiest version for you busy pet parents. So no excuse for not giving your dog the best you possible can, even you aren’t the greatest cook in the world!

Rice: Usually, I’d cook rice in a rice cooker. But for healthy reasons and extra aroma, I prefer to steam the rice and scatter slices of ginger over the washed grains. If you are using brown rice, you need to cook it a bit longer than the usual. Check constantly so it won’t turn too dry or hard.

Servings: 5 meals

Ingredients:

2 chicken breasts, cooked
¼ cup of peeled ginger, cut into ¼” diagonal slices
1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
1 cup rice, steamed
½ cup of cornmeal (optional)
1 cup baby carrots, shredded or diced (organic is most desired)
½ cup of chicken broth
1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil
Methods:

Sauté the garlic until like brown.
Add shredded chicken and sauté in large pan for 3 minutes.
Mix in cornmeal and chicken broth until well combined.
Then add rice (remove the ginger) and carrots. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Cool before serving, store leftover servings in zippered bags or Tupperware container in freezer or fridge.
For Senior Dogs with loose teeth or Young Puppies (weaning period). Puree the chicken in a food processor for 15 seconds or less. Then follow steps as above

Special notes: I don’t recommend storing cooked food for more than 3 days especially when they are placed in the fridge section. If the amount is too much for your tiny poochie, cut the ingredients amount into half—this is the lowest you can go. Otherwise, the rice will be too difficult to prepare.

If the leftover is more than a day’s serving, it’s best to divided them into equal proportion in separate containers. So you won’t be reheating the leftover too many times.

Thanks for the recipes - will have to see if Ms Softee will try any of yours. She turned 14 in August and has been giving us grey hair on getting her to eat. Jimmy usually has to send her vibes but I guess at 14 she can be picky.

Oh, we also have human recipes also if you want to contibute
mom2greys
I'll see what I can do most of mine are in my head, and I never do it the same way.
Beryl
okay I'm not the only one that does that. My daughters used to get mad at me for not being able to write some of my recipes down. I was taught how to make certain things by the ladies from the old country who used to use the old white coffee mugs for measuring, etc. and I very seldom do it the same way twice
mom2greys
Right, I can give the jest of it but that might not turn out right if you know what I mean?

Yes I do. Just like my youngest daughter has an electric pizzelle iron and hers do not taste like mine even though she follows the recipe to a tee. My iron I use on the stove the old fashioned way.

here is one I use for treats. It is a little expensive but well worth it.

8 oz. of organic oat flour
8 oz. of organic brown rice flour
4 oz. of extra virgin olive oil
8 shredded organic carrots
2 oz of organic raw sunflower seeds , chopped in a food processor
2 oz of organic raw pumpkin seeds, chopped in a food processor
3 oz of fat free cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons of organic honey
1/4 to 1/2 cup of organic apple juice.

Mix in a mixer. roll dough out and cut with small cookie cutters, then bake at 375 for 15 to 18 minutes.

This recipe should make about 200 or so treats. Freeze them and use them as you need some. emo-dogcookie.gif
