He really is and a HUGE boy at that. He is even taller then Butch who weighs 81 lbs. I don't think Sid will ever weigh that much cause even though he his tall he is not as big boned at Butch.

I took my 3 for a walk earlier and left Sid here by himself in his crate. I waited out of sight and no noise, no pacing in the cage. He did good with that! biggrin.gif

Thanks Hanna! So far so good but it hasn't even been 24 hrs yet. Only one accident and I caught him in the act and he stopped asap and out the back door we went. It was actually my little iggie girls fault cause she peed first emo-th_headbangwall.gif emo-th_headbangwall.gif emo-th_headbangwall.gif She is sooo dang impatient. She usually goes outside by herself cause she is so tiny and afraid of getting stepped on. When the princess want's something she DOES NOT WAIT! grrrrr.

One of my greys is like that. She refuses to wait, so she has to be the first one walked or I'm guaranteed to have an accident waiting to be cleaned up. wink.gif

I can't believe how well he is doing biggrin.gif We are sitting here eating popcorn and he came right over and of course tried pushing his way to get some. I corrected him one time and he left. He came back a second time I said NO and he layed down on the floor in from of us like he was praying. It was soooo dang cute. I guess he figured we weren't giving in so he went to his crate.
He has been so good about everything. His crate has been clean clean clean! He eats all his food. He has learned not to try to help himself when I have the food assembly line going. And trust me, with 8 dogs it is definately a assembly line laugh.gif
That dang rottie behind us starting pouncing on the fence and barking and scared the crap out of him early today. That set him back a bit emo-th_headbangwall.gif He ran up on the deck and paced in circles trying to figure out how to get in the house. That boy can stand on his hind legs and reach the top plates of glass in our french doors.
We took him for his first full walk tonight and did pretty good. He pulled alot at first but settled down about half way.
He now greets us with alot of enthusiasm and it is so cute to see him show those emotions emo-wub.gif He is going to make someone a wonderful, loyal, loving pup!

Tom and I walked the 4 of them tonight and Sid did extremely well. He only pulled for the first 5 minutes. That sure did make the other 45 minutes enjoyable. He was just as relaxed looking all around taking in all the sites. Of course when we got to our driveway he started with the pulling again. Tom made him stand there until he chilled a bit.
It has been another greyt day. He only went in his crate one time since this morning and that was to eat his dinner emo-th_chili.gif emo-happy116.gif emo-happy116.gif emo-happy116.gif

Skye and I took my two boys, Harley and Butch along with Sid to Care-a-Lot, and two Petsmarts today. We spent an hour in each store giving Sid lots of exposure to people, dogs or all ages, sizes, and breeds and he did GREYT!!!! He pulled a bit getting from the truck to the store doors but that was all. For the most part he was pretty calm in the store. He didn't like being too far away from the other two so I purposely would take him down seperate isles and we would sort of meet in the middle of the next. He now jumps in the back of the Tahoe emo-dace.gif emo-dace.gif emo-dace.gif With 2 dogs here that weigh over 80 lbs. that is a huge relief! I am still lifting Harley and Butch's butts into the Tahoe emo-th_headbangwall.gif
I still can't believe how much progress we have made in just 6 days. Skye is sitting on the floor pinning together to materials making the adoption jacket. She has been such a help emo-wub.gif She is the daughter we never had emo-wub.gif Because of Skye and all her help we will be able to take Sid to the Petsmarts everyday, 2 locations this week. I am so hoping someone will fall in love with him and want to adopt him. He is such a good boy. He is so quiet and so calm in the house and that has got to be a HUGE PLUS! He so deserves a forever home emo-wub.gif

We had just a few setbacks yesterday emo-sad011.gif We walked the dogs earlier then normal and Sid met the school busses face to face. He didn't totally freak but he was back to pulling so hard he was choking himself. It took another block or so before he stopped. I stole hubby's pizza from the table but I blame hubby for putting his plate right on the edge of the table and walking off to get his drink. So in the crate he went while they ate and I was out picking up a greyhound friend from PRH who was in town for a few days. Hubby said Sid whined and scratched to get out of the crate. They let him out and he paced like crazy almost the entire time I was gone. I don't know if it was me he was looking for or if it was because I took the two boys with me, Harley and Butch. He greeted me normal when I came in so I don't have a clue. Now I feel horrible cause he is back to having that look on his face, the sad and unsure look emo-sad011.gif

Sid is handsome. I love the black pups.

Them school buses don't seem to be getting any easier for Sid. Him being scared and freaking out the other night wan't about me and SA it was more about the two boys being gone. Bella keeps more to herself so she wasn't much comfort to him. Since then I have left the house many times and not a noise out of him. Everyone raises cane when I first come home so of course he chimes right in until I can get to his crate to let him out.
We are taking Sid back out to the pet stores again today, saturday, and sunday. I sure do hope someone is interested in him. Wish us luck please.

Thanks for asking. Sid is doing really good. He makes more progress every day he is in a home enviroment. He showed a first reaction to squirrels running across the street on our walk today. I only had to shout LEAVE IT! 3 times and he did great! Of course his prey drive was up for the rest of the walk. I love to see thier ears perked up.

This boy is so so ready for his forever home! He still gets scared with some noises outside but all in all he is quite happy with home life. He is a real snuggler, loves toys, chewies and oh yeah, chicken chips from my hubby who we now call the Candy Man!
Sid could not get more comfy in a home then this:

Well the month is coming to an end and we will be driving Sid back to GAA on Sunday emo-sad011.gif I just hope he doesn't get confused or depressed. I feel bad doing this but I said in the beginning to myself and my family that I would only foster him for 30 days and if he was not adopted by then he had to go back.
A few people are really trying to make me feel guilty but I just can't let that get to me. Don't get me wrong please. Sid is going to make someone a wonderful companion but I really feel he should be in a home with a bit less activity. I only want what is best for him. And there are other dogs I has already made inquiries about long before I decided to foster Sid. I am a bit upset about this but I will just keep it to myself. smile.gif

I still might get the chance to adopt my Bella's litter mate, Artie if we can get him from California to Kansas and then to NJ. I want the opportunity to at least let him meet my greys and see if they all get along. There is also another grey out there in Kansas I had inquired about 2 months ago and I was told he was on hold for another group. We they never took him so he is still available and I asked Lisa if he could be added to her haul coming on Nov. 3rd. Again I want the opportunity for my pups to meet him and see if they click.
Time to figure out something for dinner.

Bobbi

I am supposed to be driving Sid back to NJ today but my hubby said he doesn't want him to go back there! And who is the soft one here?????? I guess we will hang on to him a while longer and see if we can find him a forever home. If not then I guess he won't be leaving here.

Now I just want everyone to keep in mind, ME THE FOSTER MOM SAID 30 DAYS! IT WAS DA FOSTER DAD WHO MADE THIS DECISION!!!! emo-greatjob2.gif SID!!!!!!
